Panel on police brutality to hear case on abuse of power, land grabbing of Kingsley Eze, Chamberlain Mbachu etc in Enugu

The Enugu state panel on police brutality and extrajudicial killings will today hear a petition brought against two police officers namely SP Stanley Kwaphoor and Inspector Garba Alhassan of the special fraud unit Milverton Ikoyi Lagos on their abuse of police powers and the use of the instrument of state to perpetuate forced regime change in the ministry of lands Enugu State in connivance with Kingsley Eze of the Private Estates International West Africa limited and other land grabbers.

In the petition written by Barr Ekoh and sighted by our reporter, the petitioner alleged a conspiratorial plot to silence the commissioner for lands Enugu State because of his principled stance against attempts of powerfully connected land speculators to grab poor people’s lands and sell to other individuals in and outside of government circles in Enugu State are properly investigated especially the actions of the police officers mentioned earlier.

The petition states thus “Sir, it is a common knowledge that the fight against corruption does not go without corruption fighting back through the perpetrators. This is the case in this charge as the Private Estate International West Africa Ltd may just have employed the ready and willing hands of SP Stanley Kwaphoor and Insp. Garba Alhassan of the Special Fraud unit, Milverton, Ikoyi, as a conduit for the perfection of their alleged fraud and illegality as above adumbrated by the institution of this charge against the serving Commissioner for Lands and Urban development, who in the cause of carrying out his assignment may have stepped on the powerful toes of certain powerful land speculators.

This is so because, being in the know of the stance of the Executive Governor of Enugu State, not to have in his cabinet, any person who has a criminal charge pending against him or her, before any court of law, as well as appreciating the uncompromising position of Chukwuemeka Nnam towards sanitizing the Enugu State Ministry of Lands and ensuring a reduction in the activities of Land grabbers.

The only option open to those whose activities may have been put on hold and of course the Private Estate International West Africa Ltd was to attempt to use the institution of Government to mastermind such a charge, not minding if there was substance to it or not, in order to tacitly blackmail and attempt to malign the Hon. Commissioner, as he is considered the obstacle to their alleged illegal land grabbing activities until he is removed as the Commissioner for Lands, and they can apparently continue with their illegality.

The above has been substantiated by the recent happenings as the said Private Estate International West Africa Ltd. has taken to the online media to broadcast the above charge even when same was yet to be served on the Commissioner”.

The petitioners are appealing to the panel to intervene in this case by requesting a thorough, discreet and unbiased review of the entire case by another section or team of the Nigeria Police Force, such that any case against our Client will be borne on the auspices of its merit and not because the puppet masters, Kingsley Eze and his Private Estates International West Africa Ltd are pulling the strings of SP Stanley Kwaphoor and Insp. Garba Alhassan of the Special Fraud unit, Milverton, Ikoyi into abusing the powers of their office to assassinate the professional character of a man who just wanted to have the right thing done as per the mandate of the Governor, his Principal.

It will be interesting to see how the panel will handle this case as we awaits the outcome of the sitting.

Committee to sensitise Enugu and Ebonyi communities affected by land dispute

The Deputy Governor of Enugu State and Chairman of the Enugu State Boundary Commission, Mrs. Cecilia Ezeilo, has stressed the need for adequate sensitisation to be carried out in disputed border communities of Enugu and Ebonyi States before the determination and demarcation of interstate boundaries between the two states.

She spoke during a joint meeting of officials on Enugu/Ebonyi interstate boundaries held at Government House, Abakaliki, Ebonyi State.

Ezeilo said, “Violence, conflict, insecurity and absence of rule of law triggered by border and land skirmishes can foist debilitating fragility on communities and people, hence the need for urgent and adequate measures, and policies to reduce the scramble for land and territorial sovereignties within communities and states.

“Worthy of note is the fact that the present Ebonyi/Enugu interstate was at one time inter-divisional boundary between Abakaliki and Nsukka division which was transformed into part of the intra-state boundary of the old Enugu State before the creation of Ebonyi State in October 1996,” she stated.

Earlier in his contribution, the Executive Secretary of Enugu State Boundary Committee, Barr. Solomon Ejim stressed the need for Enugu and Ebonyi States to maintain peace till the final determination and documentation of the boundary lines.

Two killed, others injured in Enugu over COVID-19 palliatives rush

Two persons were reportedly shot to death in Enugu metropolis by military personnel yesterday. The two were among a crowd of people who had rushed off to Queens Secondary School, where Covid-19 palliatives were alleged to have been stored.

According to eye witness reports, some trucks had been sent to the palliatives warehouse in the school late on Friday night to move out the palliatives to another location, but they could not complete the mission before daylight. Crowds had trooped out to help themselves out with the loot, but stern, gun-toting soldiers warned them to stay away.

However, some dare-devil youths had approached the soldiers who shot and killed one on the spot.

“The bullet went straight into his chest and he died there. They took away his body”, a witness told Jungle Journalist Media Limited.

The witness said the other casualty was a student of the Institute of Management and Technology (IMT), who sold petroleum products around the school. He was hit by a stray bullet near the neck and he ran into a compound, where he later died.

Other information revealed that a number of people were also hit by stray bullets which injured them. At least, three such cases were reported by residents of the city.

A youth leader in the city who didn’t give his name argued that there were no palliatives in the school. He stated that the palliatives had been distributed since August “The distribution started from 10th to 15th August, 2020. Five days constant carrying from all the LGAs. Ordinarily, I would’ve kept quiet but the rumour is becoming something else and lives are been taking, due the quest of some searching for the palliatives where they can never find such”.

But Chinenye, another resident who was at Queens College argued “If there was no palliative at Queens College as they have argued, what were those trucks doing there? Because of the huge crowd, they could not drive out with the palliatives in the day time. I am sure they were waiting for night to come so they can move in the dead of the night to hide it again”, she said.

Normalcy returns to Enugu, as Chima Obieze leads youths through streets clearing(PHOTOS)

The streets of Enugu metropolis is gradually returning to normalcy, with youths in the city clearing the roads and streets.

The last few days have been quite challenging for residents, with hoodlums pulling down bus stop facilities and dustbins to block roads. They also set up bonfires and forced motorists to give them money in order to pass.

But the youths this morning, have been going from road to road, clearing off the debris.

Hon Chima Obieze, representing Ezeagu State Constituency told our reporter on the telephone that destruction is not the way to go “We have mobilised all the youth organisations in the city and are calling on all other youths to come out and join us. We are clearing the city and we are bent on returning to normal life.

“Enugu residents should go about their businesses and fear nothing. This is a call to everyone, please clear up any debris on your street. Let’s all join hands”, he said.

Reports from across the city indicated that parts of New Haven, Otigba, Presidential Road, and the Enugu Abakaliki Expressway have all been cleared. Also, New Artisan Market and environs are currently being cleared.

Also, security operatives have also been posted to flash points like Abakpa and Polo/Shoprite areas to checkmate the situation.

Eye witnesses who spoke with Jungle Journalist Media Limited confirmed that shops are beginning to open, especially around Abakpa, and vehicular movement have resumed.

BREAKING NEWS! Biafra & Ambazonia groups hold talks for freedom from Nigeria and Cameroon

By Dennis Agbo (Vanguard)

THE Biafra Nations Youth League, BNYL, has formed an alliance with Southern Cameroon’s separatist group, Ambazonia, in pursuant to secession from their respective countries to become independent nations.

Arising from BNYL’s convention in Enugu, during the weekend, attended by representatives of Cameroon’s Ambazonia, BNYL leader, Princewill Chimezie said that the collaboration of the two agitating groups had been on for a long time but was being re-engineered to give stronger voice for their self-determination pursuits.

Chimezie disclosed that the Enugu convention was predicated on how to re-strategize and encourage self-defense mechanisms for Biafrans and Ambazonians in the escalating security challenges facing the people of Eastern Nigeria and Southern Cameroon.

He noted that BNYL was a multi-national pro-Biafra group whose membership were drawn from all the ethnic nationalities in the former Eastern Nigeria that were parts of the defunct Republic of Biafra led by General Chukwuemeka Odumegwu-Ojukwu between 1967 and 1970.

Chimezie said: “We resolved to defend ourselves by any means possible and we are not afraid to say that because we can’t continue to sit down and watch enemies massacre our people. I am afraid we may resort to guerilla movement.

We have been most prominent in the Bakassi areas where we developed partnership with Ambazonia because we found out that Biafra has a similar problem with southern Cameroon.

“Ambazonia needs our help just as we need theirs. We have both had affinity to achieve independence in different ways and the collaboration is meant to hear one another’s cry.”

One of the Ambazonia’s representatives and President of Universal Negro Improvement Association, UNIA in Calabar Cross River state, Comrade Enow Arrey said he was a refugee in Nigeria because of the horrible killings of Ambazonians in Southern Cameroon.

Arrey said: “I found out that my brothers in Nigeria have the same problem with Southern Cameroon people.

My mission is to speak that Africa has the right to decolonize their place. We’ve decided that our people must be one as they were before colonization.

“UNIA will support the Biafra movement before we can deserve respect. We are fighting for peace in Cameroon and if that peace needs a separate state, we will do that.

The peace is either for federalism or separation, just like we are in support of self-defense.”
