The suspect Mr Green Ogonna age 25 who hails from Nnewi South LGA of Anambra State was arrested in his residence at Coker Junction in Asaba, Delta State following an intelligence report. During the search, troops found military wears and boots with fake pictures of the suspect hanged on his wall parading himself around town as a Military Officer.

Similarly, on 18 of May 2020, own troops on routine patrol arrested one MRS Joyce Sulieman age 43 years along NPA expressway in Uvwie LGA dressed in complete military camouflage. The suspect claimed to be a soldier and uses that to extort money from locals and also act as escort to vehicles carrying substances suspected to be Indian Hemp and scraps from one place to another. More also, during preliminary investigation, a picture of her in possession of an Ak47 rifle was seen in her mobile phone. However, she was once arrested handed over to the police for similar act in July 2018. However, she has been handed over to the police for the second time for prosecution after interrogation.

More also, It would be recalled that one Mohammad Abdul age 40 years who was once arrested at Anwai road for impersonation and handed over to police for prosecution on 14 April 2020 was re-arrested by own troops on Operation CHECKMATE during routine patrol on 20 May 2020 for impersonating by wearing Army uniform again. The suspect was caught at a mounted road block and extorting money from motorists along road Onitsha-Asaba. The suspect Mr Green Ogonna is presently with the Brigade Military Police for further investigation. After investigation he will be handed over to the police for prosecution after interrogation.

Further more, it is pertinent to state that section 110(1) of the Criminal Code makes it unlawful for any person who is not serving in any of the armed forces in Nigeria to wear the uniform of the armed forces, or any part of the uniform of such forces, or any dress having the appearance or bearing any of the regimental or other distinctive marks of such uniforms. Camouflage is a part of the military uniform and so it falls under this law.

Consequently, the Brigade wishes to call on the general public and law abiding citizens of the state to be wary of such people who parade themselves as military personnel. Locals are advised to report any unusual or suspected presence or movement of impostor/fake soldier to the nearest security agencies.

OPEN LETTER TO PRESIDENT BUHARI ON INSECURITY: LEST WE ALL DIE

By CHIEF DR. EMEKA CHARLES KALU (ECK)

7th May, 2021

GENERAL MOHAMMADU BUHARI, GCFR
President
Federal Republic of Nigeria
Aso Villa
Abuja.

My greeting to you your Excellency, I hope my letter meets you well and that the contents are taken seriously because the situation in Nigeria has made it expedient that we must speak up now more than ever before due to the crossroad we see ourselves as a nation. It is far from what we bargained for when Nigerians decided to give you a chance to rescue her from the hands of men we termed as “incompetent”.

Foremost, it is paramount that I do not bore you with unnecessary protocols as the urgency of this message requires I go straight to the point since every second I waste in pleasantry is a second one other Nigerian is killed, and every one Nigerian killed, brings us closer to the reality of possible end of Nigeria existence as a nation, this is so worrisome and I seek to bring your attention to them.

Your Excellency, we are made to believe that you are doing great in the fight against insurgency, kidnapping and banditry, this is good to know, but I am lost as to why the more effort you put into fighting this monster, the more we wake up daily with broken hearts and bad news, when we are given assurance of defeat of our collective tormentors, at that point is when we count bodies of our patriots in numbers, the decapitation of our Gallant men and women in the militry. One then wonders if the men close to you are telling you the truth or they are just telling you only what they feel you should know?

It is painful that since you took over helms of affairs of this nation, everything has taken a downturn of backwardness in all aspects of our national lives from politics to economy, to security, to education, industry, etc, everything seems to have ground to a halt under you, yet there don’t seem to be any hope or solution in sight.

Our soldiers are overstretched fighting on all fronts, yet the crises seems to be going farther than their hands can grab, agitation has evolved from peaceful to violent resistance in the East, the Governors that believe in negotiating with bandits in the North has introduced them to new line of lucrative business. But your Excellency, in all these bedeviling our dear nation, “Where are you”, where are you in all these the chaos we face while you are calm and collected.

“When are the Boys going to understand that shutting down discenting voices will not make our problems go away.

MY HUMBLE ADVICE

In as much as you have been overwhelmed my the circumstances confroning our nation, I am of a strong conviction that more options are still available to you,

I. One of the issues that has complicated our security situation is the Northerninzation and Fulanization of every aspect of our National heritage, making other tribes and regions to be sidelined and wanting their own nation to have a fair treatment. It is not yet too late to reassure Nigerians that we own this nation together, bring back the principles of Federal Character.

Ii. Stop making yourself unavailable to your citizens at this point of crises they need you most, when our rivers are crying blood and our soil socked with blood, this is time to show us fatherly love to give us confidence in our nation.

III. It is clear that concentrating Nigeria’s security architecture in the North because you do not trust other region is proving catastrophic, I believe it is time to have a rethink about it. Open up to hiring the best to do the right things for you because only when you remember you are the President of all Nigerians that you will begin to see answers to our numerous questions.

IV. Like every other well meaning Nigeria has always said, this is the time to discuss Nigeria and exploit options to make her work.
Every tribe in Nigeria has lost confidence in the system because it tilts towards favouring a particular tribe at the expense of the rest. This is time to address it to avoid the ticking bomb exploding on our faces. Nigeria is bleeding, only your decision now can save her. I know you will not allow her to bleed out.

Mr President, it has become almost impossible for Nigerians to get to you because every discenting opinion is attacked and workable opinions shut down, I therefore believe that the best and only medium available to us as Nigerians is to approach you through open letters, hence my submissions.

Today I have done my part. It is in your hands to save Nigeria or finally lead her to the rocks as we are presently headed.

God Bless Federal Republic of Nigeria

Long Live President Buhari

Love and Unity, Peace and Progress.

BREAKING: S’south PDP visit Wike, reiterate call for regional security outfit+PHOTOS

Governor Nyesom Wike at the meeting

The S’south Working Committee of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has reiterated it’s call on South South governors to establish a security outfit to tackle the rising cases of insecurity in the region.

At a meeting of the team with the Rivers State Governor, His Excellency, Barrister Nyesom Wike at the Rivers State Government House on Thursday, 6th May 2021, the group led by Chief Dan Orbih raised alarm over the incessant killings, kidnappings and terror that has been unleashed on Nigeria by bandits, Fulani herdsmen and Boko Haram.

Orbih, who commended the Niger State Governor for owning up that the Federal Government has failed Nigerians in terms of security, said that if the S’south governors are able to establish a security outfit like their South East and South West counterparts, the issue of insecurity will be greatly checked.

His words: “I am here with the Zonal working committee members of our party to thank you for successfully hosting the last Zonal Congress that brought this Exco to office. We are also using this visit to commend and applaud the good work the PDP Governors are doing in the South South and to urge them to continue the good work.

“We are embarking on this tour at a very difficult and challenging time in our nation’s history. Let me commend the courageous declaration Gov of Niger State, Gov. Abubakar Sani Bello that the country is no longer safe under APC Federal Government. A situation where insurgents will conquer any part of this country and host their flag is a declaration of war.

“Your Excellency, I want to commend you for the steps you have taken so far to protect your people. A situation where people can no longer access their farms is a clear signal of impending food crisis.

“We call on the Governors and leaders of the South South to come together and protect our people. The Yorubas have taken steps to check the menace of these groups with the formation of Amotekun, the Igbos have theirs Ebubeagu security network. What are we doing in the South South? We must fashion out ways in collaboration with various security agencies to check the unprovoked assault on our people. Our people are distressed. The federal roads are in bad shapes and unsafe.

“There is hunger in the land. An hungry man is a angry man. The rising poverty index and unemployment worrisome. I make bold to state that the current security problems confronting us is a threat to Peace and development.

“We are impressed and satisfied with the good work you are doing in your state and the zone. Your achievements is now the benchmark for critical assessment of good governance. You have done very well. We pray God to continue to give you the strength to do more for your state and Nigeria.

“Lastly, I welcome people of other zones to visit the South South to see what their zones can be if they vote PDP into government in their zones”, Orbih stated.
