Warri Correctional Centre also known as Okere Prison in Warri South Local Government Area of Delta State has been attacked earlier today by suspected hoodlums, who freed some prison inmates.
During the shootout, there was heavy shootout between security operatives and the hoodlums.
Jungle Journalist Media Limited learnt that the shootout led to serious tension around the popular Okere Road in Warri where the prison is located.
Meanwhile, Delta State governor, Ifeanyi Okowa, on Thursday declared a 48-hour curfew across the state to contain ongoing #EndSARS protests.
The governor, who had earlier supported the protest, said the peaceful protest has been hijacked by hoodlums.
According to him, the curfew would begin 6pm Thursday (Today).
