​Igbo Awards institute Barth Nnaji prize for Technology


 

Vine Shield Limited,  organizers of the prestigious Igbo Awards and Lolo Igbo Cultural Pageant have instituted the Professor Barth Nnaji Prize for Technology. 
This is in addition to the REV PROF FR STAN ANI PRIZE FOR EDUCATION which was also instituted earlier this year. 
A letter of honour was presented to him in his country home, Umuode, Enugu State. 
Nnaji, a two-time minister of the Federal republic,  and an ex presidential aspirant was elated by the gesture and expressed delight that was the company deemed him fit to have an award instituted in his  name. 
Vine Shield Limited,  through its executive director said that the prize is a well-deserved one that will go a long way in spurring other Igbos to work hard not just in their their field but to also UAE their productivity to develop their land.  

Now as a true Son of Igboland, he has upped the tempo by accepting that the award be institutionalized in his name. 
Reaponding to journalists on why the company selected him, the Executive Director of Vine Shield Limited Mazi Onukwube Ofoelue presented the position of the firm in choosing him “The Prof Barth Nnaji Prize for Science and Technology is designed to encourage Igbo sons and daughters of whatever calling to bring back their investments home and help develop Igboland. The pioneer award on this category was won by the professor himself then as Igbo Awards on Science and Technology. He won it on merit as a result of his investment in the power sector by virtue of his building Geometric Power Plant in Aba. 
He further stated “The award carries a token reward to spur and encourage the younger Igbo generation to follow in his footsteps and the likes of Innoson Motors. 
He explained that during the third editon of Igbo Awards,  along with Lolo Igbo Cultural Pageant, which holds in November later this year will reward sons and daughters of Igbo extraction for their outstanding contributions to the Igbo nation.
