Avengers: FG makes u turn, resume payment of Amnesty stipends to ex-militants

The federal government have resumed payment of the monthly stipend of N65,000 to ex militants stopped since January this year. The Chief of Staff in the office of the Special Adviser to the president on Niger Delta and Coordinator of  presidential Amnesty programme, Colonel Dedis Abel (Rtd) said this is the continuation of the programme held earlier January 2016, in Port Harcourt, Rivers State.

He said “in January we began with documentation and verification of beneficiaries, but today we continue with those we did not capture last time we came”.

Abel said payment of the monthly stipends will be made directly to each beneficiary, with focus on eliminating cases of underpayment or deduction.
